Bindu Sky Pomeroy
Teacher, snowboarder, the Mayor of East Vail and the reason this fund exists
Bindu grew up in Boulder and spent nearly a decade teaching social studies at Vail Ski & Snowboard Academy in Minturn. His students remember the lessons that were never in the textbook: how to treat people, how to stay present, and how to chase the things you love with your whole heart. He built a mindfulness curriculum for VSSA, rode for Weston Backcountry, and was known around the valley as the Mayor of East Vail.

We lost Bindu in a backcountry snowboarding accident in November 2018. Within weeks, his friends, students and their families came together to carry his spirit forward. The Bindu Sky Memorial Fund was born, and with it the Bindu Spirit Award.
